Subaru is the automobile manufacturing division of the Japanese transportation
conglomerate Subaru Corporation. They are the twenty-second largest automaker in the
world.
The company was founded in 1953 and is currently 67 years old. Subaru cars are
popular because of their boxer engine layout above 1500cc. The one we are talking
about is Subaru Outback. This is a popular car line from the company.
Subaru Outback uses an automotive nameplate for two vehicles which includes an
Impreza-derived hatchback and Legacy-based station wagon.
Subaru Outback III: Third Generation
The fourth-generation legacy formed the foundation for the third-generation Subaru III.
Subaru Outback III was first revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2003. The
production started the same year and continued for the next six years before it was
wrapped up in 2009.
Although the car had arrived by 2003, it was launched in the North American market in
2004. It featured a 2.5L turbocharged engine. The company sold the 2.5XT trim as a
limited edition in Japan in 2008. They did so to celebrate the 50th anniversary of
Subaru.
The new generation car featured an upgraded wheelbase. Not just that, but even the size
of the car was bigger than the previous models.
Subaru Outback III featured an attractive interior. The styling of the whole Legacy series
including the Outback was updated in 2006. The company made several new changes to
improve the car’s functionality.
The Outback sedan was discontinued after the 2007 model year. At this time, Subaru
had only one sedan and wagon model in the North American market.
Subaru Outback III is a comfortable car with a powerful engine and decent features.
However, it is not made for off-road adventures. Currently, the company is working on
the sixth-generation Subaru Outback models which look much better than any of the
previous versions.
