A persistent tire pressure warning light on your BMW can be frustrating, especially after you've already corrected the tire pressure. Follow these quick and simple steps to restore your car's system to normal.

Requirements

  • A tire pressure gauge or air pump to ensure all tires are properly inflated.
  • Access to the vehicle's dashboard controls.
  • A well-lit environment for better visibility while operating the controls.
  • Ensure the car is turned on but stationary during the reset process.

Required steps

  1. Inflate all tires to the recommended pressure as specified in your car’s manual or the sticker located on the driver’s side door frame.
  2. Turn on the car without starting the engine (press the start button without pressing the brake).
  3. Locate the dashboard control buttons and press the selector switch upward once.
  4. Press the selector switch upward a second time to highlight the tire pressure reset option.
  5. Press and hold the reset button for a few seconds until the arrow disappears.
  6. Release the button, then press it again three times to confirm the reset.
  7. Check for the "Check" indicator, which confirms the warning light has been reset.
  8. Turn off the car and restart it to ensure the warning light no longer appears.
  9. Verify the system has registered the tire pressures correctly by driving the car for a short distance.
  10. Enjoy your clear dashboard!
