Saab Automobile AB is a Swedish car manufacturer strongly connected with aviation industry as a subsidiary of Svenska Aeroplan AB (Also abbreviated SAAB). Automotive business started after World War II in 1945 as demand for aviation industry products significantly decreased. Through the years SAAB introduced many innovative ideas into the automotive business and it's engineers technical thought has been appreciated worldwide. SAAB's cars were also inspired on aviation industry solutions what made their cars unique and gave them many enthusiastic fans. In 1969 SAAB merged with Scania-Vabis – Swedish manufacturer of heavy trucks and busses. In june 2012 SAAB has been acquired by Chinese consortium named National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS). From 2016 SAAB trademark is no longer in use.
