Toyota 4Runner III (N180): Third Generation

Toyota 4Runner III (N180) is the third generation of 4Runner cars that started production in 1996 and ended in 2002. This was once a highly popular series of cars in the market.

The third-gen 4Runners were developed under Chief Masaaki Ishiko under the project code 185T. The 4Runner III featured a new sign design and all-new chassis. It was a rugged, off-road car that was designed for high comfort. It gave high competition to other mid-size SUV cars in the market. The third-gen 4Runner had many features common to the first-gen Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks.

Toyota 4Runner III (N180) featured a larger body along with a longer wheelbase. It also provided more interior space, dual airbags, cargo space, and coil-spring suspension all around.

With each passing year, the third-gen 4Runner N180 was improved and made better. However, the production ended in 2002. Toyota 4Runner III (N180) was no doubt a great car, but today, we have more advanced SUVs from the company.
