Honda has always impressed us with innovation and performance-based vehicles. They
are not just known for their motorcycles, but they also design and make affordable,
commercial cars.
The company was founded in 1946 and since then they have added more new car lines
under their wing. One of the most successful car lines is Honda Pilot which is a mid-size
crossover SUV model. The Pilot car line was first introduced in 2002 when they
launched the first-generation Pilot cars. But we here to talk about Honda Pilot II.
Honda Pilot II: Second Generation
Honda Pilot II is larger and better than Pilot I. It was first revealed at the North
American International Auto Show. The car is assembled at Honda Manufacturing of
Alabama.
Honda Pilot II was offered in five trim levels. This includes EX, LX, Touring, EX-L, and SE.
All the second-generation trims are equipped with a new J35Z4 3.5L V6 i-VTEC engine
producing 250 hp.
The engine is designed to be fuel-efficient and is equipped with 5-speed automatics.
The makers made a lot of changes in the second-generation Pilot. To start with, they
redesigned the headlights with standard halogen reflectors. Other features include a
new two-position memory setting for the driver’s seat.
The car also features a new power tailgate. They moved the gear shift to the center
console between the front seats. The Touring trim comes with a 120-volt power outlet
and a satellite-linked Honda navigation system.
In 2011, they made a few minimal changes in the car. They included a voice-activated
navigation system. In the following year, the car was given a facelift. Along with that
they also added new alloy wheels and front fascia.
Honda Pilot II is an efficient car and is loaded with features. It was launched in many
countries and did a good sale.
